Buttermilk Fried Chicken
- 1 – 10 oz package of Hilltop Foods Chicken Fry Mix
- 1 to 2 lbs chicken, quartered or cut into pieces
- 1 Cup buttermilk
- Few drops of extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
Mix chicken with ingredients, marinate in the refrigerator at least 24 hours before frying
After 24 hours, remove chicken pieces from bowl and shake off excess buttermilk
Pour one 10oz package of Hilltop Foods Chicken Fry mix into large flat bowl
Coat the chicken one piece at a time, continue coating until all pieces are well coated
In a pan, heat 2 to 2 1/2 inches of cooking oil until the oil is 350 degrees F
Place 3 to 4 pieces of chicken into oil at a time. Turn chicken while cooking until golden brown on all sides. Reduce heat and cover the pan. All chicken pieces to cook well.
Repeat until all chicken pieces are cooked
